I can hardly believe that in just two and a half weeks Thanksgiving will be here! I can't WAIT to see my brother, Jay, who left in August for graduate school in Houston. I may or may not have an obnoxious and/or blinking sign at the airport to welcome him. : D
I did have an awesome time at the State Fair recently with one of my most beloved friends, which of course must be documented. Since I can remember, I have always gone to the October state fair in Columbia. It's tradition- and I am all about tradition! I remember being super bummed out one year because I wasn't tall enough to ride the rollercoaster. Technically, I think I was supposed to be in a car seat until about 8th grade when I got out of the 4 feet tall range, but I digress...
I was so glad that Meagan, Dustin, and Dawson came to see me recently : ) We grilled out (thanks to Dustin my house did not burn down), played lots of Tetris on the Wii (one of my latest addictions), had some great meals at some fabulous restaurants, and went to several fun places around Columbia. Here is our weekend in pictures:
I made some fabulous baked beans!
Dawson had fun during bath/swim time!
It's Fair time!!! I'd say he probably played a majority of the games that were available, and he did have several toys at the end to show for it.
Behold the incredible...the amazing...do it yourself SLUSHIE house!!! Take that, snow cones.
These were seriously the best slushies EVER.

Oh, the infamous squeaky dolphin.....
Chairlift time!
My date for the day : )
Meet some of the fluffiest and most adorable rabbits in the world!!
You know you want one.
Dawson made an a.b.s.o.l.u.t.e M.E.S.S with that blue cotton candy, and it was HILARIOUS!
After the fair we went to Yesterday's for a Deeee-licious meal. One of the funniest things happened while we were at the dinner table. We ordered spaghetti for Dawson. When our food arrived he looked at his plate "confettti-ed" with parsley and declared with confusion, "It has grass all over it!" I will never think of parsley in the same way again. It was absolutely hilarious...even the waiter was laughing. Seriously though, what restaurant worries about the presentation of a kids' meal?
Sunday afternoon before heading out on our excursions.

First stop: Finlay Park. Dawson found a huge play set. He had a ball!

My beloved Meagan. No matter the time, season, or decade, we will ALWAYS be the dynamic duo. Going since 1991 in Mrs. Thomas's class : ) I love you!!!

Our next stop was Riverwalk. Dawson enjoyed climbing on the rocks and trees.

Dawson's energy level was still full when we got back home, so he decided to challenge Ryan to a game of tag.
The next two months are going to FLY by and will certainly be action packed. Believe it or not, my calendar is already full until January!! I must remind myself to slow down and enjoy the time with my loved ones. Within the next few weeks we will all be preoccupied with shopping, decorating, attending parties, etc. While I probably enjoy these activities moreso than anyone I know, I am challenging myself to focus on daily on my relationship with the Lord. Despite my heinously busy schedule I realize that we are never promised tomorrow. I want to make sure that I have shown Jesus to someone each and every day. I will leave with that until next time...
God bless you!
